The Future of EU‐China relations from a Southern European Perspective, and Spain’s Role in This Context,
Under the title, The Future of EU‐China relations from a Southern European Perspective, and Spain’s Role in This Context, INCIPE and Spain‐China Board Foundation organized a colloquial Working Breakfast this past December 3rd focusing on the current situation of bilateral relations between the European Union and China.
We had three members in attendance from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), which is the most prestigious Asian think tank that works as a part of the Institute for European Studies Research Centre.
During the symposium, issues like the new package of reforms that the Chinese government is working on to ensure the sustained growth of its economy were raised. Also, the negotiations between the European Union and China about the protection of investments and the benefits that these agreements could create were discussed. The Working Breakfast saw participation by some of the assistants, who addressed issues such as a reform of the Chinese banking system, the role of foreign players in the financial sector, and the mechanisms to increase the number of Chinese tourists in Spain.
